A video of Norma Mngoma speaking carelessly about her divorce with former Cabinet Minister Malusi Gigaba during the Commission of Enquiry into the State Capture has recently been doing the rounds online leaving netizens’ jaws dropped.

Mngoma and Gigaba had a messy separation after a video of the former Home Affairs Minister playing with his private part trended online. In another instance, Mngoma was the one trending after a video showing her scratching and damaging a Mercedes G-Wagon parked in her home garage. According to eNCA, the black SUV belonged to one of Gigaba’s friends. The car was said to have been loaned to Gigaba since his had broken down.

According to Daily Maverick, during Mngoma’s cross-examination at the State Capture Commission, she reportedly testified against the Gupta brothers and exposed her estranged husband for allegedly taking bribes from the Guptas. It was reported that her wedding was financed by money received by the Guptas and reportedly cost between R4 million and R5 million. Gigaba was also said to have accepted a car and bags stuffed with cash from the Gupta family.

In a video topping the trends list online, Mngoma was heard distancing herself from Gigaba’s finances and claimed her divorce from the former Cabinet Minister meant nothing to her as she was not personally benefitting from him in any way.

“Our divorce doesn’t affect me that much because Malusi filed for the divorce [and] until today, he hasn’t said anything to my lawyers. So there’s no way where my divorce like it’s on my neck. It’s only my lawyers who are keep on sending emails to his lawyers and they take time to respond,” Mngoma can be heard saying.

“So the divorce is not a big deal to us. And also, everything in the house it’s me who paid it. I have the whole receipt. I send it to my lawyer. So it’s either we are divorcing or not, I’m not affected that much by the divorce because everything that is there its owned by me,” she added.

Mngoma then claimed that Gigaba did not even own a single vehicle, and said,

“And the house that we are staying in there, Malusi is renting. And he is doing that for his kids. So it’s either we are going through a divorce or not, Malusi will still pay for his part for our kids. So it’s not a big deal. It’s not like I’m going to lose much. He doesn’t even have that much.”
