Nicole Shanahan on divorce from Sergey Brin, Elon Musk ‘affair’

Attorney and investor Nicole Shanahan opened up about the 17-month-long legal process to divorce Google co-founder Sergey Brin and her alleged affair with South African-born billionaire Elon Musk according to a report by People.

Attorney and investor Nicole Shanahan confirmed to People that her divorce from Google co-founder Sergey Brin has been finalised about a 17-month-long legal process. The pair split in December 2021 and Brin filed for divorce in July 2022. (https://valorhealthcare.com)

In July 2022, The Wall Street Journal reported that Musk had an affair with Nicole, said to have taken place in December 2021. Both Nicole and Brin denied the affair. She has since found a new love, and reflected on her marriage to the Google co-founder.

She expressed that living life as a billionaire’s wife is not what it seemed.

“When I was living as a wife of a billionaire, I was not the best version of myself. I felt conflicted every day, like I couldn’t access the thing that made me what I am,” she said to the publication.

She noted that her marriage to Brin “wasn’t a fit”.

“I can only speak for myself obviously, but I think what happened was I looked inside the marriage and I couldn’t see myself,” she continued.

• Nicole and Brin reportedly met in 2015. The pair made their first public appearance at the Met Ball in 2016.
• The pair tied the knot in 2018.
• Nicole gave birth to their daughter Echo in 2018 as well after fetility issues.
• Brin has two children – Chloe and Benji with ex-wife Anne Wojcicki, the CEO of 23andMe.
