Nadia questions Burna Boy’s ‘dead agenda’ remark: ‘Am I senstitive?’

Rapper Nadia Nakai, who is also the girlfriend of late South African musician AKA, seeked clarity after Nigerian artist Burna Boy’s comment following rumours about low ticket sales for his South African concert.

On Tuesday, 19 September, it was announced that the Last Last hitmaker will no longer be kickstarting his Burna Boy After Tour at the FNB Stadium in Johannesburg. The show, which was billed for 23 September, was postponed to 16 December before being officially cancelled.

BURNA BOY’S COMMENT GETS NADIA’S ATTENTION

After postponing, the Grammy award-winning musician took to his Instagram stories to denounce rumours his ticket sales were low, calling it a “dead agenda”. He also assured his fans he will come to South Africa soon.  

“I was in SA last year and I had 100,000 of the most beautiful South Africans outside for me, so no dead agenda. I will see you again real soon South Africa. I love you,” he wrote.

Burna Boy’s post was later shared by Nadia on her stories with the comment: “Am I being sensitive? What does he mean by dead agenda?”

According to TshisaLIVE, the Naaa Meaan hitmaker deleted her post.

FEUD WITH AKA

Nadia is still mourning the loss of AKA – real name Kiernan Jarryd Forbes – who was who gunned down in Durban in February this year.

The slain rapper had forged a relationship with Burna Boy before their social media fallout in 2019.

The pair – who had collaborated on three songs, All Eyes on Me, Baddest and Paid – had a bitter social media feud about the xenophobic attacks in Mzansi.

At the time, Burna Boy took to X (formerly Twitter) to claim that Nigerians were being killed in SA, which AKA refuted.

Burna’s claims were also refuted by police, who told TimesLIVE that of the 12 people killed in the attacks, 10 were South Africans, one a Zimbabwean and the other a Malawian.

During the former friends’ heated argument, Burna Boy said he would never set foot in SA again until the government “woke up”. The Bank On It singer also called AKA “retarded” and threatened violence if they ever crossed paths.

AKA also hit back in his verse on the late Costa Titch’s song, Nkalakatha Remix, which also featured the late Riky Rick.

In his verse, AKA rapped: “Cancel my people, cancel your visa”.
