‘The Mommy Club’ star Her Majesty recalls encounter with Bester

‘I was almost maybe raped, maybe killed, maybe human trafficked’: Her Majesty aka Happy Simelane on meeting Thabo Bester.

Her Majesty – real name Happy Simelane – has recalled almost being human trafficked by convicted rapist and murderer Thabo Bester.


In a recent episode of Showmax’s The Mommy Club, the reality TV star and businesswoman slammed allegations of being an attention seeker when she opened up about her meeting with the man known as the “Facebook rapist”.

Accusations of being a “clout chaser” were made by fellow cast member Ratile Mabitsela who claimed Her Majesty leaked the information about meeting with Bester to be spoken about.

Her Majesty was aware of the allegations during her lunch date with fellow cast member Mpumi ‘Mrs Mops’ Mophatlane on the show.

Responding, she diened by a clout chaser: “I took that story to the newspaper to make them aware. And, at that time, I didn’t know that was Thabo Bester.”

“I’m also a victim,” she continued. “I was almost maybe raped, maybe killed, maybe human trafficked.”

In the video of her meeting with Bester, he said she should “find people that are producing luxury content on social media”. She also shared a screenshot of WhatsApp conversations also showing a flight ticket from Dubai to Johannesburg and talks of a 12-month contract where she was told she could allegedly make $3.2 million (about R55 million).

Her Majesty also said that she has voice notes and texts messages as proof. She also said she spoke to Bester’s girlfriend and accomplice Dr Nandipha Magudumana.

Bester and Dr Nandipha, have hogged headlines in the first halve of 2023. This came after Ground Up lifted the lid on Bester’s audacious escape from Mangaung Correctional Services in Bloemfontein on 3 May 2022 — in which he was initially believed to have burned beyond recognition in a fire.

The rapist was serving a life sentence for killing his then-girlfriend and saleswoman Nomfundo Tyhulu in Cape Town and the rape and aggravated robbery of two women in Durban. He also committed a spate of rapes and robberies in at least four provinces.

Bester is currently detained at Kgosi Mampuru II C-max prison in Pretoria, whilst Dr Nandipha is kept in the hospital wing of the Kroonstad Correctional Centre in Free State. He will appear in court on 8 August with 11 co-accused, including Dr Nandipha and her father, Zolile Sekeleni.
