Zimoja reported on Wednesday, 16 August that Zozi Tunzi was invited to the Miss SA 2023 finale on Sunday, 13 August but snubbed the invitation.

A source revealed to the publication that Tunzi thought she was going to be made a judge but when she found out she wasn’t, she reportedly lost interest and didn’t show up.

Miss SA owner and organiser, Steph Weil told the publication that Tunzi was never meant to be a judge but was invited as the VIP guest.

“I don’t know what happened to her. Maybe she confirmed other important things, but she was definitely invited and never showed up.”

It is also believed the former Miss Universe didn’t attend the event because of the drama behind the scenes of the reality show, Crown Chasers, which she hosted.

A source from the show previously told the publication that a well-known fashion stylist who was commissioned by the show to style Zozi was told at the last minute that he won’t be getting paid by Miss SA and was told to invoice Zozi directly.

Weil responded to the Crown Chasers rumours and said: “I respect Zozi as a woman and brand and obviously there will be glitches and mistakes because it was our first season.”
