‘I Miss you’: Lynn Forbes shares old private messages with AKA

Lynn, the mother of slain rapper AKA – real name Kiernan Jarryd Forbes took to Instagram and posted a screenshot of a past conversation she had with her son where he asked her out for lunch in the early hours of the morning as seen on Sunday, 5 October.


AKA was shot and killed on 10 February in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal by a mysterious shooter as seen in a CCTV footage that did the rounds on social media shortly after he died outside Wish restaurant in Florida road. The rapper’s mother, Lynn Forbes recently shared that she misses her son dearly. She decided to post a text conversation that she previously had with AKA on her feed and had social media users empathising for her.

“How I wish I could call you when I woke up and tell you how much I would love to have lunch with you today. I miss you so much 💔,” she penned on her feed.

During a briefing that took place on Tuesday, 26 September, at the Tshedimosetso House in Hatfield, Tshwane, Police Minister Bheki Cele said the KwaZulu Natal Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant-General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi had given him new information regarding AKA’s murder case ZiMoja reported.

Cele said the cellphones, getaway vehicles, and the gun that was used in the successful plot to kill the rapper had been retrieved. Nonetheless, neither the rapper’s murderer nor anyone else involved in his murder plot have been identified or charged as yet. Cele had previously urged the public to let the official do their work in order to crack the murder case.
