‘Goodbye poverty’: Vusi Thanda reacts to Kicks Sportwear donation
Struggling actor Vusi Thanda recently received R30 000 donation from Kicks Sportwear after South Africans donated R100 000 in September.

Kicks Sportwear recently donated R30 000 to former The Queen actor Vusi Thanda after the veteran actor pleaded for financial assistance on social media in September.

INSIDE KICKS SPORTWEAR DONATION
The founder and CEO of Kicks Sportwear Sammy Mhaule, who donated R30 000 to the struggling thespian tells Sunday World that they are happy to assist veteran actor Vusi Thanda.
“After much consideration and talks with Vusi Thanda, we decided it would be best for us to opt-out of hosting an event and have agreed to rather hand over a cheque of R30 000 as our contribution to this legend.”
“Although we would have loved to host the event as planned, this approach made more sense to everyone involved, because the ultimate goal of this whole exercise was always to offer relief to uBaba.”
Mhaule also thanks all the individuals and businesses who supported the initiative.
The former eMzini Wezinsizwa actor was overwhelmed by joy and thanked Kicks Sportswear for their donation.
“I am officially saying goodbye to poverty. I don’t want to touch a cent of this money but instead, I want to invest it, because that is a mistake I made in the past.”
“I have learned my lesson and never want to misuse money again. Thank you to the Kicks team for standing by me through this very difficult time. May God bless all of you.”

VUSI THANDA POPULAR ROLES
Sowetan reported in September that the popular actor Vusi Thanda also received R100 000 from South Africans after his viral video.
He also thanked South Africans for donating R100 000 into his Capitec bank account as he was behind with his rent and owed his landlord R45 000 rent.
Thanda is popularly known for his character as Tshawe and his “as far as I am concerned” line from the popular SABC1 sitcom eMzini Wezinsizwa.
He’s also known for his popular role as Goodness Mabuza’s uncle in The Queen and many more.
