Khloé Kardashian changed son’s surname – what you need to know

Khloé Kardashian opened up about not having a ‘complete’ bond with her son Tatum, who she and Tristan Thompson welcomed via surrogate.

American reality star Khloé Kardashian reportedly changed her son’s surname after she initially listed him as Baby Kardashian according to a report by People.

BABY KARDASHIAN OR THOMPSON?

People reports that Khloé Kardashian initially listed her son’s name as Baby Kardashian on his birth certificate as she was yet to decide on a name. The publication reports that according to California law, new parents can pick whether they want their child to take the surname of the mother, father or a combination of both.

However, the choice is permanent. So, the parent would need a court order to change the baby’s name. Khloé has since changed the baby’s surname to Thompson — Tatum Robert Thompson.

The Good American co-founder and NBA star welcomed Tatum in July 2022 via surrogate. The reality star and Tristan also have a five-year-old daughter named True together. While Tristan is also a father to Prince, who he shares with ex-girlfriend Jordan Craig and one-year-old Theo, who he shares with fitness trainer Maralee Nichols.

KHLOÉ ON SON: ‘WE STILL DON’T HAVE A COMPLETE BOND’

In a conversation with mom Kris Jenner, Khloé expressed her guilt over not feeling the same bond with her son that she shares with her daughter True.

“The connection… took days with True. With him, it’s taking months and we still don’t have a complete bond,” she admitted.

“I don’t treat him differently, just question myself sometimes,” she continued.
