In a new Interview with The Cut Magazine, American media personality, Keke Palmer has opened up about the new found “power” she has obtained since giving birth to her son, Leodis Andrellton Jackson in February this year.

KEKE FEELS POWERFUL
“After having my baby, I’ve just gotten so much more powerful. I’m just so strengthened in a crazy way. Strutting my stuff, enjoying,” Keke told the outlet.
Keke also notes that before becoming a mother she was really insecure and self conscious about her body, primarily because of the work that she does as a public figure.
“I’ll be honest, I think before I even had the baby, I was really actually quite self-conscious. In a way that you would expect, considering the kind of work that I do as a public figure. Always trying to be on point with my body and always trying to make sure I’m taking care of this and that. There’s a lot of physical attention”, Palmer shares.
Naturally feeling the pressure to ‘bounce back” to her old body, Keke shares how her trainer encouraged her to embrace her new body.
“He was just like, ‘Well, we are never going to try and get your body back to how it was before a baby because you birthed a child.’ It’s like, that’s not something to hide, that’s something to embrace. We’re going to lean into this new body”.

‘DO YOU, NEW MOMS, DO YOU’
When asked about the her thoughts on women who have been defending her online, following the drama with the father of her child, Darius Jackson, Keke encouraged women and new moms to stand firm and do whatever they want to do with their bodies.
The Internets Sweetheart has also assured new mothers that there’s no love that’s reassuring like the love from a child.
“Do you, new moms, Do you. Girl, if there’s one person on this earth that loves you for sure, it’s that baby. Be happy, because there’s not love like it. Somebody loving you like that, hell, who care?”.
