Jeannie De Gouveia popularly known as Jeannie D is a South African actress, radio personality, model and TV presenter who is best known for her work on SABC 3’s entertainment and lifestyle program called Top Billing.

THE JOURNEY

Jeannie’s love for the arts started at 12 years old when she successfully auditioned at the National School of Arts. Here the media personality was trained in dance, speech, drama and theatre.

The former Top Billing presenter graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Communication at the University of Johannesburg, formerly Rand Afrikaans University. According to Briefly, Jeannie’s professional media career started when she joined her university’s campus radio station.

After completing her studies, Jeannie relocated from Johannesburg to Cape Town and landed a newscasting job at Good Hope FM.

After becoming a presenter at Good Hope FM, Jeannie left the radio station in 2006. After searching high and low, the model got a job as a presenter with the public broadcasting channel SABC3. While there, Jeannie oversaw the highly popular lifestyle show Top Billing and got the opportunity to interview various high-profile celebs, including the likes of Kevin Spacey, Keanu Reeves, Sandra Bullock and Jimmy Choo.

LIFE AFTER TOP BILLING

After leaving Top Billing, Jeannie was a producer for SABC 3’s Afternoon Express, which she left in 2021.

The model and presenter had also joined the Travel Africa Network in conjunction with DSTV.

“Travel has always been such an integral part of my growth as a person. I was born to explore and adventure as many parts of the world as possible, which is why I’m ecstatically happy to be joining the team at the all-new Travel Africa Network”, the multifaceted presenter announced to her Instagram.

In true Jeannie fashion, the presenter continues to live life lavishly across the globe.
