Gift Leremi’s father accuses Sundowns of colluding with star’s ‘wife’
Gift Leremi’s family says Mamelodi Sundowns have been discussing his will with his partner, Mamello Ralematha, who he denies is his wife.

Robbie Leremi, who is the father of late Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Gift Mpho Leremi, wants justice for his son as his estate has not been wound up 16 years after his passing.
GIFT LEREMI’S FATHER SAYS SUNDOWNS IS SIDELINING HIM
According to Sunday World, Robbie claims that the Premier Soccer League (PSL) champions have been sidelining him and have instead been communicating with the late footballer’s then-partner, Mamello Ralematha.

When Gift Leremi passed away in a car crash in 2007 at the age of 22, he had three children – two with Mamello and one with a woman named Vuyokazi.
Sadly, one of Gift’s children with Mamello passed away in 2008. She now lives with the other child, whilst Robbie lives with the other – a teenage daughter named Lesedi.
According to Robbie, who says his greatest concern is his granddaughter’s future after matric, all he ever received from the Brazilians was his son’s jersey.
Robbie told the publication that he is currently trying to raise R10 000 for his granddaughter’s school fees and has communicated this in several emails sent to Masandawana and it’s boss, Patrice Motsepe.

‘SHE IS NOT HIS WIFE’
Robbie says that Mamello claimed that she and Gift got married before his death, however, he denies this.
He said when his son’s will came to light, Mamello contested it saying the signature was fake.
“She raised questions about the signature of Gift on the will, and the matter was referred to handwriting experts to verify the authenticity of the signature.
“Gift was not married to Mamello. It is troubling that she is poking her nose into the affairs of my child,” he said.
Responding to his claims, Mamello said: “I will end up mad regarding this, so let the guy (Robbie) do whatever he wants.”

FEUD OVER GIFT LEREMI’S HOUSE AND HIS DOCCIE
Mamello has made headlines since Gift’s passing.
In 2010, IOL reported that the Leremi family and Mamello were at each other’s throats over the contents of his will.
At the centre of the feud was his home in Winchester Hills which Robbie claimed Mamello took over after Gift’s passing.
“She invaded the townhouse with her relatives and literally took occupation,” read the court papers.

In 2018, SowetanLIVE reported that Mamello was at the forefront of the making of a documentary about the late star’s life, Whispering Leremis’s Tale To My Child, aimed at giving the public a glimpse of his life as a soccer star, a father and a caring husband.
Mamello, who still uses the Leremi surname, shared a video mash-up of herself proudly wearing a robe with the surname on it.
“I used to protect my name in situations, now I don’t care what you think about me akere la buwa anyway….” she caption the post in May this year.
