‘Generations’ star Thabiso Mokhethi: ‘I was once a drug addict’

Actor Thabiso Mokhethi, who is famously known for playing Sam in ‘Generations’ opens up about drug addiction and depression.

Former Rythm City and Generations actor Thabiso Mokhethi stepped away from the spotlight when he became a drug addict and struggled with depression.

THABISO MOKHETHI DISCUSSES DRUG ADDICTION AND DEPRESSION

Zimoja reports that the former Generations actor Thabiso Mokhethi has opened up about how his life as a drug addict and how he got saved.

“I was once a drug addict and grace set me free from that. I was once lost in my own stresses until I was depressed, but the Lord set me from that.”

Mokhethi adds that he was a person who didn’t live a life of truth and honesty and I was transformed into a nobleman and it is by the grace of God that he is here to share his story.

The Black Tax star also says he knows what it’s like to try to use substances to try and heal but those things tend to imprison us. The star has also gone back to church and trusts that God and only God was enough for him.

‘GENERATIONS’ STAR LOST HIS PARENTS AND SIBLINGS

The former 7de Laan actor Thabiso Mokhethi also revealed to Sowetan in 2018 that he lost his mother and younger brother in a car accident in 2013.

“My brother was driving when they were hit by another car and they died on the spot,” he told the publication.

Mokhethi admits that his life began to unravel after burying his loved ones and that he was close to his mother.

“My mother and I were so close that we referred to each other as friends and my brother was like a son to me because we had lost our father in 1999, so I was doing all the fatherly duties,” he said.

The 41-year-old thespian also reveals that he realised he was in a dark place when became physically abusive towards his wife and because of that he almost lost his family.
