Confirmed: Rapper Riky Rick has passed away at the age of 34
The family of South African rapper Riky Rick has confirmed that he passed away on the morning of Wednesday 23 February.

The family of South African rapper and hip-hop artist Rikhado Muziwendlovu Makhado, popularly known as Riky Rick has confirmed his passing on Wednesday 23 February.
CONFIRMED: RIKY RICK HAS PASSED ON
Twitter users were in shock after the rumours of Riky Rick’s death. The family of the 34-year-old rapper has since confirmed that he passed away on the morning of Wednesday 23 February.
“The family is still meeting, and we will release a statement in due course. We ask for your understanding,” said a family spokesperson to Drum.
The family has not confirmed whether the rapper did or did not commit suicide according to the rumours. The family has since released a statement.
“Son, husband, father, brother and uncle, Riky ‘Ricky’ Makhado (34) sadly passed away in the early hours of this morning (23rd February) in Johannesburg,” read the statement by the family.
“Affectionately known as Riky Rick across the globe, he was deeply loved by his family, friends and the entire entertainment industry. His love for family, friends, and community is well known. Riky’s nurturing and developing of young musical talent is well documented and will forever be remembered,” the statement continued.

CLOSE FRIENDS ALSO SPEAK OFF THE RAPPER’S DEATH
Close friends of the rapper, who chose not to be named, said the rapper passed away on his way to hospital. The friend said Riky Rick stopped taking drugs years ago. So, they do not know what may have triggered this.
“Riky spoke about his depression and he was doing okay. He stopped taking drugs many years ago and that was never a secret. I don’t know what might have triggered this. But we will pray for Bianca and the kids,” said a close friend to the publication.
A source told Sunday World the rapper was found by his management team at about 08:30. Apparently he was rushed to a nearby hospital as he was still alive at the time. The source also said that the rapper died on the way to the hospital.
“Unfortunately he died when they were en route to the hospital,” said the source to Sunday World.
