Did it for Derick! Springboks honour ‘Liefling van Loftus’
Just like Derick Hougaard and his hospital recovery, the Springboks put on a tough fight against the Wallabies at Loftus Versfeld stadium.

The Springboks have clinched a well-deserved victory against the Wallabies after promising a victory for “Liefling van Loftus” Derick Hougaard.
Earlier this week SA Rugby director dedicated the first Rugby Championship match to the recovering retired player who recently contracting a serious illness.
South Africa beat Australia 43-12 in a match played on Hougaard’s homeground; Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Pretoria.

SPRINGBOKS DEDICATE WIN TO DERICK HOUGAARD
Derick Hougaard – who retired from the Springboks in 2015 – is recovering at home after spending over two weeks in ICU after contracting a serious illness.
In a press conference earlier this week, Rassie Erasmus shared his best wishes with the “Old Boy”.

He also revealed that the Springboks had dedicated their match – on Derick’s home turf – to the recovering star athlete.
According to The Citizen, he said: “We are very happy that Derick is getting better.
“We are playing at Loftus this weekend, and he was known as the ‘Liefling of Loftus,’ so hopefully, we can get a win for him this weekend.”
Following the Springboks win, fans of Derick shared their joy at the victory.
WHO WAS THE NATIONAL ANTHEM SINGER?
Meanwhile, social media users are full of praise for the artist who sang the national anthem at the Loftus Versfeld Stadium.
Wearing a bright green gown, Nosipho Silinda belted her heart out to Nkosi Sikelel ‘iAfrika alongside the Springboks players.

Nosipho is known for being a Top 10 finalist from Idols SA’s season 14.

Needless to say, South Africans were thrilled at her performance, which went without a hitch.
One tweep posted: “Not sure who the lady is that was singing the National Anthem on Loftus today, but MAN did she do a beautiful job at it.”
