ELON MUSK’S MOM MAYE FLUENT IN AFRIKAANS

Fans have reacted to Maye Musk fluently speaking Afrikaans while she was in South Africa. Maye has been in South Africa as she was honored with a PHD in dietetics from the University of the Free State (UFS). While in South Africa, she met with former Miss South Africa (2014) Rolene Strauss, who shared a video of her speaking Afrikaans fluently.

The mom of three was married to South African engineer Errol Musk for nine years. The 75-year-old was born in Regina, Canada and lived in South Africa since she was three years old. According to Biography, she moved back to Canada in her 40s. Take a look at the video…

“Ek kan Afrikaans praat” she said.

“Dit is wonderlike,” she responded when Strauss asked how amazing it was.

CHARLIZE THERON’S COMMENT ON AFRIKAANS

In November 2022, Charlize spoke up about moving away from SA at the age of 19 — chatting to podcast hosts Sean Hayes, Jason Bateman, and Will Arnett. She then called Afrikaans an unhelpful language and said that only about 44 people still speak the language in SA.

“There’s about 44 people still speaking it. It’s definitely a dying language; it’s not a very helpful language,” she said.

This set tongues wagging across Mzansi.
