KAIRO FORBES: ‘I WANT TO PERFORM’

In a scene on DJ Zinhle: The Unexpected season three, Kairo Forbes tells her mom, DJ Zinhle that she would like to perform her dad’s music. During the conversation, the DJ was practising for what appears to be an upcoming show when Kairo expresses that she doesn’t want to go for rehersals.

Rapper Kiernan Jarryd Forbes, popularly known as AKA and the DJ welcomed Kairo in 2015. AKA was shot dead outside of Wish Restaurant on Florida Road on 10 February.

“I want to perform… for daddy’s voice,” says Kairo.

“Wow, that’s crazy. Imagine you on stage singing daddy’s songs. You must tell Glammy,” responds the mom of two.

KAIRO PERFORMS AT JOBURG DAY

The scene was most likely shot before Kairo performed at Joburg Day in September this year. At the event, AKA’s life was celebrated by performers such as Khuli Chana, Yanga Chief, Thato Saul, Da L.E.S, and The Mega Band. These artists performed songs that they have collaborated with the rapper on.

Nadia Nakai, who was dating AKA at the time of his death also performed their song Dangerous featuring Blxckie. While Kairo got on stage and performed her dad’s hit Company. Her grandparents Tony and Lynn Forbes joined her on stage to cheer her on. Take a look…

However, after the performance social media users accused DJ Zinhle and family of “exploiting” Kairo and using her for clout. As previously reported by The South African, Lynn stepped in and expressed that nobody forced the eight-year-old to perform.
