‘7de Laan’ actor David Rees discharged from hospital

7de Laan actor David Rees’ publicity manager, Corlia Strauss reveals the talented actor is finally home and is surrounded by family.

‘ACTOR IS HOME’

The talented 7de Laan actor David Rees’ publication manager also shared on his Facebook account on Saturday, 26 August that he is incredibly happy to be home.

“David has been released from hospital yesterday. He is incredibly happy to be home! The fresh country air and comfortable surroundings will bode well for his recovery,” posted Strauss.

Strauss also revealed on the actor’s Instagram account that the family is asking for privacy and for friends and family to check in with them first before visiting. The actor’s family is also thanking South Africans for the continued love and support.

The family launched a BackaBuddy (crowdfunding page) to raise R500 000 for his medical bills. The public had donated over R87 000 at the time of publishing this article.

‘7DE LAAN’ ENDS

The popular actor David Rees portrays the role of a multi-millionaire businessman Chris Welman in 7de Laan.

He joined the show in 2016, took a break in July 2018 and reprised his role in 2020 as Mariaan’s husband and father to Alexa (Carina Nel), Amorey (Kristen Raath) and Rickus (André Lötter).

SABC2 confirmed in July that the long-running Afrikaans soapie will come to an end in December after 23 years on air!

The South African will give an update on the actor’s return to the soapie.
