South Africans have a rich history of wearing bad wigs — even celebrities. While the hair business has evolved over the years, most of our rich and famous are yet to catch up with the rest of the world when it comes to the quality of their wigs and weaves.

In light of this, an American TikToker has headed online to drag South African women over their crusty lace fronts.

While many locals decided to defend themselves, several people agreed that wig-wearers generally weren’t doing well in SA.

US woman cringes over SA ladies’ wigs

Last year, Ntando Duma topped X trends. This after a snap of her wig fail made its way onto the social media app.

The TV presenter now joins local stars like Khanyi Mbau and Nadia Nakai who were previously trolled for the quality of wigs they wore during the first season of Young Famous & African.

“What’s up with these wigs? These are the worst wigs I have ever seen in my life. Now I’m only in the first 12 minutes of the first episode but I’m horrified and traumatised. I’ll never put a wig on… ever again,” wrote American TikToker Champ Bailie after seeing the wigs.

In the photo of Duma, which was taken at the premiere of Shaka Ilembe, her lace is visible and haphazardly covered with foundation. Take a look below:

Loads of roasting ahead

And now South African women as a whole are getting dragged by an American lady who shared a video on TikTok mocking local ladies and how they install their lace fronts.

In the clip, she shared how SA women have beautiful bodies and are perfect in every way — except when it comes to installing their hair.

In the comment section, SA ladies either slammed her or agreed.

“As a South African woman, I’m afraid you’re right,” one person wrote.
