‘Ask Lady Zamar’: Amanda du Pont’s posts receive backlash

Actress Amanda du Pont was likened to her Skeem Saam on-screen character of the cunning and bitter Nompumelelo ‘Lelo’ Mthiyane after her latest post.

Amanda du Pont’s recent Facebook sparked a backlash which saw her being cautioned about her court case against Jub Jub.

On 27 July 2023, Jub Jub handed himself to the Brixton police after he was informed about a warrant of arrest issued against him.

AMANDA DU PONT’S POSTS RECEIVE BACKLASH

The muso appeared before Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court accused of rape, attempted murder and assault. The allegations date back to 2006.

It was also revealed that du Pont was one of the four victims who pressed charges against the Uyajola 9/9 host.

Jub Jub is rubbishing the claims and was released on R10 000 bail.

Amanda du Pont took to Facebook to post her priceless moments with her immediate family, but she received backlash as followers dragged her case against Jub Jub into the mix.

Amanda du Pont captioned the post: “Life must be celebrated, and life means nothing without family🤍.”

In the backdrop of his post, South Africans flooded into her comment sections with their two cents. Many were in disbelief about how she visited her alleged rapper while in jail and looked all loved up.

Others dragged her 2014 sentiments in which she revealed that “It was not Jub Jub who rapped her.”

MZANSI REACTS

Some cautioned her about being on social media, especially with sensitive cases like this being on the court’s roll. Some likened her to Lady Zamar and even related the incident to her on-screen character on Skeem Saam.

She was cast as Nompumelelo ‘Lelo’ Mthiyane, a bitter, jealous and cunning woman.

On the other hand, some heaped her praises for opening up about her woes. Here are some comments that flooded her Facebook in the backdrop of her post.

Sibusiso Gubz Mokoena posted: “She must be 100% sure that Jub Jub did it,because if he didn’t and she falsely accused him,She will be disowned by South Africans. SHE MUST ask LADY ZAMA.”

Mbongeni Saint Riolo commented: “At least you don’t rely on booking performances for a living, otherwise I’d say go back to Swaziland now cause it will soon be finished and you will be like “Hawu yebonine abasangifuni ebantfu baseNtalasfali.”

Xolani Khabazela posted: “So beautiful. But there are lot’s of people who are living a better life without a family. Sometimes family can be toxic and prevent you from progressing in life.”

UMusa Zwide posted: “Beautiful with no brain.”
