Africa Now Radio has announced Nandi Madida as the new host

Nandi Madida joins Apple Music as of Friday, June 2, when she takes over as the new presenter of Africa Now Radio on Apple Music 1.

Nandi Madida, an actor, singer, and presenter, feels at ease as she enters a new phase of her career that she characterises as a lot calmer and more satisfied.

At a press conference on Monday in Fourways, it was revealed that the 35-year-old artist would start in her new era as the presenter of Apple Music 1’s Africa Now Radio.

She succeeds media figure Luthando “LootLove” Shosha, who has presided over the programme since 2021.

In its fourth season, Africa Now Radio, the first global African music radio show on Apple Music, has featured in-depth interviews with some of the biggest names in the continent’s music industry, including Davido, Stonebwoy, Diamond Platnumz, Tiwa Savage, Wizkid, Nasty C, Rema, Ayra Starr, Asake, Omah Lay, and a plethora of other producers and musicians.

Over 130 of Africa’s best new acts, including Gyakie, CKay, Lloyiso, Uncle Waffles, and Pabi Cooper, have been featured on Africa Now Radio, which has also premiered over 650 new albums.

The newest African music, including Amapiano, Afrobeats, highlife, Alte, house, hip-hop, bongo flava, and kuduro, will continue to be featured on Africa Now Radio with Madida, which is based on the Africa Now playlist on Apple Music.

Nandi Madida intends to carry the torch for the diverse range of talent emerging from the continent.

Nandi Madida an International sensation

Nandi Madida, a South African-born actress, singer, and businesswoman, has achieved international fame. She is renowned for her contagious and uplifting attitude, her unwavering professionalism, and her undeniable beauty on the inside and out.

Madida was chosen specifically to play Nala after performing in Beyoncé’s critically acclaimed visual album and film experience Black Is King on Disney+.

With a new agreement with Sony Music Africa, this South African Music Award winner’s most recent track, “Organic,” promotes self-worth and self-belief. Her passion for presenting began when she was just 15 years old and received her first presenting job on the largest South African network. From there, she moved on to the Main Stage at Afropunk in Brooklyn and is currently the host of Apple Music 1’s flagship show.

Nandi Madida began hosting Africa Now Radio on the international radio station Apple Music 1 in May 2023.
