American rapper and Yeezy founder Kanye West and Adidas are rumoured to have reportedly restored their contract agreement with a German shoe company recently following the controversial musician’s anti-semitic comments months ago allegedly leaving the sneaker brand with unsold merchandise estimated to be worth R23 billion, several sources reported.

According to News24, the German sneaker company said it would be the worst-case scenario if it were to write off all of the Yeezy inventory and could face an estimated loss of R1.3 billion. The stock was already said to have dropped by 11 per cent.

In a recent press release seen by The Source, New Chief Executive Officer Bjorn Gulden reportedly said the company was not performing as it should, and the plan for 2023 was to “make Adidas shine again.”

He was quoted as saying,

“The numbers speak for themselves. We are currently not performing the way we should. 2023 will be a year of transition to set the base to again be a growing and profitable company. We need to put the pieces back together again, but I am convinced that over time we will make Adidas shine again. But we need some time.”

Fans online have been going wild with excitement about the news that Adidas and the Yeezy founder are back together. However, neither Adidas nor Ye have confirmed the rumours as of yet.

“After what’s transpired over the last year, it’s a clear indicator that Adidas needs Ye, they know it, and ultimately it’s a W for him,” @brycent_ wrote.

“I bet Adidas got a better deal, and Kanye had to settle for less in the new contract. Adidas is playing smart, as they know Kanye can’t demand for more control and money. So Adidas must have made a better deal getting them to be more profitable. Smart,” @juvingonslaves commented.

“I think contractually they have to. Though I wouldn’t doubt their contract benefited them instead of Kanye,” JoeG727 voiced.
