THE WORLD’S CHEAPEST HOUSE

A two-bedroom, one-bathroom house listed on Zillow is titled the world’s cheapest house as it costs $1 (R18.68) which is less than a loaf of bread in South Africa.

The house, which is situated in Michigan, United States of America has everyone wondering, what’s the catch as it sounds too good to be true.

Jacaranda FM reports that the house doesn’t seem to be in the worst condition and the website listing the house is open about the obvious issues with the house.

An estate agent, Chris Hubel revealed to local news source that the new owner needs roughly $20,000 (R370,000) to “fix” the house and around $45,000 (R800,000) if you they are using a company to assist with “repairs”.

SOCIAL MEDIA RESPOND TO R18.68 PRICE

Howardsellsnj: “It’s probably an auction house. I had a buyer buy a house that was listed for $1, she paid $230,000.”

Vmactoress2: “They are just trying to get a bidding war going for a house that is probably going to be condemned by the city once it’s sold (if it hasn’t already been).”

Ilovedetroit: “Love the original floors 🙂 honestly it’s not in terrible condition.”

Jayychrome: “How many murders occurred at that house?”

Lanie149: “It’s in Pontiac. Much like Detroit was 20 years ago, beautiful historic neighborhoods falling apart and more than its fair share of crime. But it does have an all sports lake with nicer homes on it. Hopefully it will start to see the turnaround Detroit has and is still working on.”
