‘I spend R2000 on formula’: Taxi driver with quadruplets seeks help

A security guard and part time taxi driver dad, who was recently blessed with quadruplets is asking South Africans for financial assistance.

A Johannesburg-based security guard and part time taxi driver, Sizwe Bhengu, whose wife recently gave birth to quadruplets has reached out for financial help.

TAXI DRIVER DAD: ‘THE FORMULA IS KILLING ME FINANCIALLY’

The taxi driver dad, who was blessed with quadruplets three months ago has reached out for help, while his sister @anati_maharaj also pleaded for help on his behalf on Twitter.

“Hi everyone, my Name is Sizwe Bhengu, me and my Family on the 24th of May 2023 we were blessed with quadruplets babies. I am a security guard and part time taxi driver when I’m off but still not making enough financial. I am here pleading for any kind of help towards thread,” she tweeted.

His sister added that he’s got six children and any assistance will be highly appreciated.

Bhengu told TimesLIVE that they were blessed with two boys and two girls at Queen Nandi Regional Hospital through a Caesarean section. He also told the publication they are struggling to keep up with buying formula milk.

“I spend almost R2,000 for four tins of infant formula since each tin costs about R450, depending on where I buy. The formula is killing me financially. Nappies are also killing me, I won’t lie. We always look out for sales and specials.”

“As for clothes, we have enough now as my place of work donated clothes to the babies,” Bhengu said.

Lumka Oliphant, who is the spokesperson from the department of social development revealed to the publication that she suggested Bhengu’s family register their children for the child support grant to see if they qualify.
