‘Very selfish’: Tweeps slam Fiji’s Josua Tuisova for missing son’s funeral for RWC

Social media users and rugby fans took to X platform this week to react to Fiji’s Josua Tuisova for missing his seven-year-old son’s funeral.

Condolences are flooding in from rugby fans around the world for Josua Tuisova’s son, Micgabraph Donzel Ratulevu, who died from a long-term illness.

JOSUA TUISOVA MISSES SON’S FUNERAL

IOL reports that Josua Tuisova missed his seven-year-old son’s funeral as he opted to stay with Fiji squad at Rugby World Cup.

The 29-year-old was told about his son’s death from his father Isikeli Ratulevu shortly before playing against Georgia on Saturday 30 September.

While some fans and Fiji officials commended Tuisova for staying with his teammates in France to continue playing in the Rugby World Cup, some social media users were not impressed with his decision.

@muddydwarf tweeted: “He should be with his family; they need him much more.”

@RenaldoGouws said: “It truly is a tough situation, but family always comes first. I respect his decision and will never fault him for it.”

947 reports that Tuisova’s son, Micgabraph Donzel Ratulevu was buried on Tuesday, 3 October after suffering from a long-term illness.

@OfentseShezi: “I mean you only get one chance to bury your son, won’t he be playing more games in future?even if this was his last year playing, not attending your son’s funeral? For what? I mean I don’t think Fiji will win the World Rugby Cup no offense.”
