‘World class’: Springboks fans celebrate return of green and gold kit

Springboks fans are celebrating the return of the team’s green and gold kit, making its first appearance at the 2023 Rugby World Cup.

Springboks fans are celebrating the return of the national team’s green and gold kit, which they will wear on Sunday, 17 September, when they take on Romania in their second Rugby World Cup game.

The squad will wear their home kit for the first time during the tournament, currently underway in France.

The “traditional” colours mark a significant change from the team’s aqua away kit worn last week. The bold new look received much public backlash.

PRAISE FOR GREEN AND GOLD KIT

In a pic posted on their social media accounts, the Springboks revealed their starting quad in their Rugby World Cup match against Romania.

Bongi Mbombambi will captain the team, which includes players like Canan Moodie, Jaden Hendrikse, and Vincent Koch, making their first appearance in the competition.

The post also revealed that the national team would wear their green and gold kit, sponsored by Nike.

The news was warmly welcomed by Springboks fans, many of whom expressed their disdain for the aqua away kit worn by the team in a game against Scotland last week.

SPRINGBOKS VS ROMANIA: WHERE AND WHAT TIME?

The Springboks vs Romania Rugby World Cup game will take place on Sunday, 17 September, at the Bordeaux Stadium in France.

Kickoff is at 15:00 SA time.
