From side-chick to Queen? King Charles’s wife Camilla has been dragged over her new title, given her history as a ‘royal mistress’.

Not or the first time King Charles’s wife – now officially titled Queen Camilla – has been dragged on social media for her ascension to the throne.
In fact, the 75-year-old blonde quickly became a meme, with many hailing her as the “ultimate side chick.” To add insult to injury, the hashtag “Camillaisahomewrecker” soon began trending on Twitter.
According to Charles’s first wife – the late Princess Diana – Camilla was the “third person” in their marriage amid speculation of a wild affair.
Charles and Camilla met in 1970 and have known each other for more than half a century. They tied the knot in 2005.

CAMILLA: FROM ‘SIDE-CHICK’ TO QUEEN
Camilla – previously the Duchess of Cornwall and later the Queen Consort – was given the title of Queen at the royal coronation.
King Charles’s second wife will now be addressed as “Her Majesty The Queen” and “The Queen.”

According to People, her new title is updated on the Royal Family’s website.
But royal fans quickly took to social media to hail Camilla as the “ultimate side chick.”

The messy relationship between Charles, Diana, and his mistress Camilla is a well-documented one.
While King Charles and Queen Camilla are happily married, they were once embroiled in scandal after beginning an affair in 1986. This, despite Charles marrying Princess Diana in 1981.
According to leaked tapes made by Diana, she confronted Camilla about the affair at a party in 1989.
Diana said of her confrontation with Camilla: “She said to me: ‘You’ve got everything you ever wanted. You’ve got all the men in the world fall in love with you, and you’ve got two beautiful children. What more do you want?’. So I said: ‘I want my husband.’ And I said, ‘I’m sorry I’m in the way…and it must be hell for both of you. But I do know what’s going on. Don’t treat me like an idiot”.
In 1992, Charles and Diana officially separated. A year later, a secret recording of a phone call between Charles and Camilla is leaked. And media ran with all the explicit details of their sexualised conversation, including the former fantasising about being a “tampon” for his lady love.
In 1995, Camilla separated from her own husband Andrew Parker Bowles. That same year, Princess Diana’s bombshell Panorama interview with Martin Bashir was released. In it, she infamously said of her relationship: “Well, there were three of us in this marriage. So it was a bit crowded.”
Diana died a fiery car crash in 1997 in Paris. Charles and Camilla would officially tie the knot in 2005, 35 years after they first met.
