Johannesburg’s Kirsten Teasdale went viral this past weekend after she was pictured by British newspaper the Daily Mail at the Rugby World Cup semi-final match between the Springboks and Wales.

IOL reports that Teasdale is an avid rugby supporter and was pictured in a flowing ball-gown in the colors of the South African flag at the Yokohama Stadium in Tokyo, Japan.

The Daily Mail captioned the photo, saying:

“A South Africa fan dons a stunned dress as she smiles from the stand…”

Teasdale later said that she and her husband has attended every Springboks RWC match and has been wearing this South African ball-gown for the seven Bok matches.

She added that several Springboks players have autographed the dress throughout the tournament.

A friend of Teasdale, Ingrid Rose added that they have been watching local and international matches since their school days and never missed an international match at Newlands stadium in Cape Town.

The dress itself she added, was designed and made by Teasdale herself.

Ilze Oosthuizen also met Teasdale at the quarter-finals match between South Africa and Japan and captured the below photo.

She said: “I happened to be in the fanzone next to her at the SA/Japan match last week and took this photo of her. She looked absolutely exquisite and elegant and made us South Africans proud. I posted it on my Facebook and people were in awe.”

Rassie Erasmus’ men thanked South Africa for the overwhelming support after their semi-final agaisnt Wales, which has fuelled them towards another step in history.

The players shot a video to relay their message across, with Welshman, Aled Walters displaying his commitment to the cause in the form of jumping jacks in the background.

Rugby World Cup 2007 final revisited

The Rugby World Cup is set for a result of the 2007 final.

On that occasion, the Springboks held their nerve to come out 15-6 winners in a keyless affair in Paris.

Now coached by Eddie Jones, who was in the South African dugout 12 years ago, the 2003 champions could perhaps be the favourites, owing mostly to their World Rugby ranking of second place.
