Ama-politicians: Will they hit the right note with amapiano moves? [watch]

Spin doctors to swing doctors? A few politicians have been showing off their amapiano dance moves at rallies ahead of the municipal elections on Monday 1 November. Who has the best groove?

The municipal elections are set to take place on Monday 1 November with politicians spending their time campaigning on the streets of Mzansi. While on the campaign trail, politicians have also been busting out their best amapiano dance moves. Could this be their attempt at securing the youth vote?

Five times politicians busted some amapiano moves:

1. PATRICIA DE LILLE – GOOD

According to a Twitter user, Patricia de Lille was at Rands Cape Town, in Khayelitsha, with her GOOD party members and she busted out her best amapiano moves. 

The comments section was filled with hilarious remarks from Mzansi tweeps. 

One tweep wrote: “I personally want to see more politicians at groove.”

2. JOHN STEENHUISEN AND SOLLY MSIMANGA – DA

John Steenhusien, Solly Msimanga and several other Democratic Alliance (DA) members were at the final DA rally in Tshwane on Wednesday 27 October.

They got down to Felo Le Tee & Myztro’s amapiano hit 66. Sharing the video on TikTok the official opposition party wrote: “What a vibe at the DA Tshwane final rally!”

The comments section was once again filled with hilarious comments. One TikTok user wrote: “Copy cats, shame. But the EFF do it better.”

Another wrote: “No vibe here, go to EFF. You’ll see what we call vibe. That’s your president John dancing like he’s seeing a ghost.”

3. JULIUS MALEMA – EFF

Leader of the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) Julius Malema got down to Mellow & Sleazy’s & Felo Le Tee’s Bopha featuring Young Stunna and DJ Maphorisa. Malema was at a community meeting in Newcastle, KwaZulu-Natal when EFF supporters suggested he dance on the stage by himself.

Sharing the video on Twitter the EFF wrote: “Not people of Newcastle making our CIC dance alone, before leaving for this next community meeting in Inanda. But the Provincial Chairperson Commissar Vusi Khoza assisted a bit.”

4. ANC MEMBERS 

Although it isn’t amapiano, it’s certainly still worth a mention. While waiting for President Cyril Ramaphosa in Seshego, Gauteng, ANC members got down to a song, titled We Are Ready For Ramaphosa

5. ACTION SA MEMBERS

The Herman Mashaba-led Action SA played some amapiano for their supporters and it was certainly a party! An older supporter was the life of the party and wowed the crowd with her best dance moves. Take a look…
