The community beat a 34-year-old man who allegedly sexually assaulted a woman while she slept in her home in Buffelsdraai, KwaZulu-Natal early on Sunday morning, 5 February.

Woman sexually assaulted while sleeping next to husband

Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA), a local security firm, dispatched its members to the property shortly after midnight.

Upon arrival, the reaction officers learned that the 31-year-old victim had woken up after feeling someone attempting to penetrate her.

She questioned her husband, who denied the allegations.

He turned on the light and found a man in their room.

They called for help from neighbors, who came to their aid and apprehended the suspect, who lived in the same area.

The suspect told the reaction officers that he entered the residence through an unlocked door and penetrated the woman with his finger.

The community then assaulted him, causing him to sustain injuries.
