‘Historical’: Shaka iLembe’s first episode pulls over 3.6 million viewers

After years in the making, the historical epic Shaka iLembe drama series has managed to wow viewers with its captivating storyline.

It’s a hit – the first episode of Shaka iLembe drew more than 3.6 million DStv viewers in South Africa. No doubt it goes down in the history books as one of the most-watched debut episodes of a show on Mzansi’s small screens.

The 12-part series tells the story of the famous Zulu King and the events that shaped his remarkable life.

SHAKA ILEMBE’S FIRST EPISODE IS A HIT

The show also reached similar heights on the DStv App across Zambia, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Namibia and other African countries. The first episode was beamed last Sunday exclusively on DStv.

MultiChoice CEO for general entertainment Nomsa Philiso expressed her gratitude to viewers for watching the historical epic series that dives into the life of the iconic African King Shaka Zulu.

HERE IS HOW YOU CAN WATCH THE DRAMA SERIES

The much-talked-about majestic prime-time drama series will air on Mzansi Magic every Sunday on the 20:00 slot.

However, according to several sources, the drama series will be exclusively beamed on Mzansi Magic. Little is known when it will be available on the DStv streaming app Showmax.

On the other hand, one can also watch the drama series online through the DStv mobile app. The DStv app is also accessible via the web.
