‘Gqeberha: The Empire’ Spoiler: Anathi returns

Gqeberha: The Empire popular character, Anathi Mxenge who left in 2023 after her breakup with Thulani will return.

ANATHI RETURNS

TVSA confirms that actress Akhenime Mfenyane, who plays the role of Luzuko Mxenge’s fourth wife, Anathi and Thulani’s lover has returned to the Eastern Cape-based show.

Thursday, 11 January teaser reads: “Anathi faces one of the people she wronged.”

The Gqeberha: The Empire January teasers also indicate that Anathi and Thulani may makeup and bury the hatchet.

Tuesday, 16 January: “Nobomi and Anathi struggle to convince Thulani to let sleeping dogs lie.”

‘GQEBERHA: THE EMPIRE’ RENEWED

The isiXhosa telenovela has been renewed for a second season following the departure of actor Mbulelo Grootboom.

Season two will begin on Monday, 15 January when actor Oros Mampofu takes over the role of Ntando Mxenge after the departure of Phila Madlingozi.

DStv also confirms that popular telenovela has been renewed for a second season after the introduction of actor Bongile Mantsai as Luzuko’s brother, Hlumelo Mxenge in November.

“The much-anticipated season, which is already in production, will see some exciting changes and additions to the cast as well as a story line that will grip viewers’ imagination and exceed expectations,” said the channel.

The channel adds that season two will give renewed meaning to the word ‘commitment’ when the dynamics of the Mxenge family, their empire will have viewers wondering what is coming next.
