‘Gomora’: Drama series allegedly cancelled

Unconfirmed reports have it that Mzansi Magic’s most-watched drama series Gomora has allegedly been cancelled.

Unconfirmed reports making rounds have it that the Mzansi Magic drama series ‘Gomora’ has allegedly been cancelled and won’t be renewed for next season.

Reports from Daily Sun have it that Mzansi Magic is in the process of implicating adjustments on its content, and ‘Gomora’ might be axed.

Close sources to the publication have since leaked the news of the cancellation of the drama series. According to Ghanamma, cast members have already been informed that the drama series will not be renewed for season 5.

Sources have it that the announcement was slated for 3 April, but the showrunners are yet to give an update.

On the other hand, Daily Sun has since confirmed the exit of the drama series’ lead cast.

Reports allegedly have it that Katlego Danke, Connie Chiume, Ntobeko Sishi and Siphesihle Ndaba are already shooting their exits scenes after they were written off from the storylines.

As the drama series heads for its rumoured finale, the rumour mill has it that it will wrap off with a different storyline and plot. In recent months the drama series has had a mass exodus of its lead cast, leading to the now-rumoured exit.

However, in the mix of things, Gomora’s showrunners and directors have blue ticked the rumour that has since flooded social media.

Despite its rumoured cancellation, the drama series is DStv’s most-watched show, with a viewership of 667 334 viewers per episode as of February 2023.


The drama series premiered with a star-studded cast that we all love to hate, but it seems they are leaving the show in the eleventh hour.

Of late, the drama series has been making all sorts of headlines, from the mass exodus of the cast to the rumoured cancellation.

Reports have it that several lead actors have already jumped off the ship, with some shooting their exit scenes.

Will the drama series be renewed next season? At least four lead actors have been written off from the storyline as per reports. The showrunners are yet to confirm if ‘Gomora’ has been cancelled.
