‘Scandal!’: Inside Nolwazi Ngubeni’s dramatic exit as Mbali

Talented actress Nolwazi Ngubeni has exited e.tv’s popular soapie ‘Scandal!’ as the villainous Mbali Kubeka.

Award-winning actress Nolwazi Ngubeni’s villainous character Mbali Kubeka, who joined e.tv’s soapie Scandal! in 2021 will get killed this week.

WHO WILL KILL MBALI?

TVSA reports that Petunia (Makhosazana Ndlovu) who plays Mbali Kubeka’s (Nolwazi Ngubeni) on-screen mother will kill her when she attempts to kill her sister Winnie (Fundiswa Ngcobo). It is reported the soapie’s Scandal! Fan-favourite character Jojo (Melusi Mbele) who was married to Mbali will cover the crime. 

The 39-year-old actress-casting director revealed in an interview with Sunday World that she enjoyed playing a villain as she normally plays the ‘good guy’. 

“Usually, I always get the sweeter roles, but I love playing the villain and being that person that perpetuates the drama throughout the soapie. It has been very exciting for me, especially coming back into the industry and playing roles that are completely different from what I am known for.”  

“Being on Scandal! has been one of the greatest joys of my career. I truly appreciate the immense support the producers, cast, and crew have shown me. I walk away with fond memories as I prepare to take on the next phase of my journey. Thank you to all the viewers for watching and consistently supporting my work. ‘SCANDAL!’ CONFIRMS NOLWAZI NGUBENI’S EXIT

Ubetoo reports that the Scandal! actress Nolwazi Ngubeni will continue with her role as a casting director in Mzansi Magic’s faith-based telenovela Umkhokha: The Curse, which returns in March as a telenovela. 

E.tv’s head writer and creative producer Grace Mahlaba said: “Nolwazi carried the weight of Mbali’s schemes with such conviction, and dedication and brought layers to the character that were an absolute delight to watch on screen. The Scandal! the team is sad to see the end of Mbali Kubeka and we appreciate the time she spent with us.”Watch Nolwazi Shange Ngubeni in her last episode as Mbali on Scandal! on eTV (DStv channel 194) at 19:30 CAT.
