Uncle Waffles, Tokischa and Davido are among the performers at The UnitedMasters Grammy Weekend Concert this year. The event as reported by Variety, made headlines last year and featured popular guests such as Jay-Z and Beyoncé. This year it will take place at the Hollywood Palladium on February 2nd with top African and South African talent and guests. The event proves that Africa has some of the top artists in the world and showcases Africa’s unique music.

Uncle Waffles has been a rising talent for South Africa, while Tokischa and Davido are among the most popular African stars. As reported by The SouthAfrican, Uncle Waffles has been nominated for a Grammy for her hit album “Yahyuppiyah”.

Grammy weekend concert welcomes Africa’s best performers

Uncle Waffles, along with Tokischa and Davido was invited to perform live in Hollywood for the UnitedMasters Grammy Weekend Concert following their global success. The Grammy Weekend Concert helps to showcase and promote independent artists. Last year it featured global superstars and attracted guests such as Jay-Z and Beyoncé, DJ Khaled and Future.

Mzansi talent goes global

Although the full lineup and guests of the event were not confirmed, the event will help to showcase Mzansi talent. Uncle Waffles, Tokischa and Davido are among the few artists who have made global headlines this year with their music. They have had successful records on streaming platforms such as Spotify.

South African Grammy nominees

Global superstar Uncle Waffles has two nominations this year including Best Global Music Album and Best African Music Performance. Another South African-born hitmaker who made headlines for a Grammy nomination was Tyla. Both of these talented females have helped to showcase Amapiano music on a global stage.

Showcasing African independent artists

Independent artists are those who are not signed with a major label. Uncle Waffles, Tokischa and Davido are among the African independent artists that have shown massive success, similar to those artists who are signed to big labels. Their recognition at the event in Hollywood is well deserved.
