It was in 2002 when kwaito legend Mduduzi “Mandoza” Tshabalala and his widow Mpho Tshabalala said ‘I do’.

Seven years after his untimely passing, fans of the Hope hitmaker would be invited to be guests at the couple’s wedding in the comfort of their homes through his six-part mini-series titled Nkalakatha: Life of Mandoza.

The biopic – which stars former Lithapo actress Lorraine Moropa as Mpho and Shaka ILembe star Wiseman Mncube as the kwaito star – premiered in August on BET Africa (channel 129 on DStv).

Veteran actress Lillian Dube played Mandoza’s grandmother, while former Uzalo star Dawn Thandeka King played the musician’s mother. Other supporting actors include Mzambiya, Khotso Phosa, Lindo Sithole, Phineas Bullets and Fanele Zulu.

SA LOVING THE WEDDING SCENE

A video of the couple’s wedding has since gone viral on social media; leaving Mzansi in stitches. The scene shows Mandoza and Mpho performing their wedding dance (otherwise known as i-step) on the street, while being accompanied by their wedding party.

In the funny video, the men are dressed in oversized cream suits while the ladies wore white dresses. And it is musician, dancer and actor Lindo Sithole (the short groomsman behind the bride and groom) who steals the show with his lively dance moves.
