Rumours than Kanye and Kim’s marriage is finally on the rocks flooded our feeds on 5 January. Since then, there has been an insane rumour that the reason for the Hollywood A-listers’ divorce is that Kanye is having an affair with YouTube star and makeup mogul Jeffree Star.

The initial rumour was started on TikTok by influencer Ava Louise, who shot to fame in 2020 amid the coronavirus pandemic when her clip of licking a toilet seat for the “corona challenge” went viral.

Ava Louise made a video on TikTok showing the Page Six article behind her with the headline “Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are getting a divorce: She’s done”. In the video she shared to her more than 586,000 followers, she said:

“Now that Kim’s finally doing this I feel like I can spill the tea that I have been holding on to for months. This whole divorce comes as no surprise. Kanye’s been hooking up with a very famous beauty guru. Male beauty guru. A lot of people on the scene have known for a while.”

i can’t say WHO cuz he’ll sue me hint hint but it’s part of the reason Kanye’s so religious now it’s his self hatred …. my source is legit I promiss

Licking a toilet seat during a global pandemic is not the brightest thing to do so naturally many did not take her word for it.

Another TikTok influencer, Patty Eminger, made several videos on the Kanye West-Jeffree Star conspiracy theory. He pointed out that Kanye spent the last month at his and Kim’s Wyoming ranch and that Star announced he was moving to Wyoming in August, and now lived there.

Jeffree Star initially fuelled the rumours by tweeting a picture of himself with the caption: “I’m ready for Sunday service”, referencing the pop-up church services led by Kanye.

The vlogger also posted a picture of the road ahead, captioning it: “I love these beautiful #Wyoming winter nights”, increasing the suspicion.

However, after having a little fun with it, he was ready to clear the air.

In a lengthy, almost 24-minute video titled “Addressing the Kanye situation” on 7 January, the YouTuber admitted there was no truth to the rumours.

Ava Louise shared a few follow-up videos on her TikTok about Kim suing her and going shopping for court, as well as a few tweets in relation to the drama she, Ava Louise, had stirred.

The second time around her internet fame was short-lived when a friend leaked a voice-note of Ava Louise admitting there was no truth to the story. She admitted she had tricked the entire world into talking about her because she was bored.

She shared the clip with a caption saying she was going to tell the truth, but “clout-chasing locals I thought were my friends wanna do it first”:

i was gunna wait to expose myself but clout chasing locals I thought were my Friends wanna do it first ?? lame

She ended by saying:

“And that’s on being an icon, we all had fun though, didn’t we? You’re welcome for the memes.”
