BACKGROUND OF ‘YOLANDA IS SWANGER’

Char meets Yolanda in another town after her family sends her away to hide her pregnancy in eVod’s Afrikaans film Yolanda is Swanger.

“The shame of the revelation forces her father to send her off to live with her aged grandparents in a rural Karoo town, Richmond in the Northern Cape, with a plan to secretly have the baby and then return home to finish schooling. It’s here that she meets Charl (Adrian Steyn), another ostracised teen who moved to the town after a tragic incident that killed his father – something he is blamed for. The two outsiders forge a friendship while learning to live and to forgive themselves for the mistakes of the past,” reads the statement

The film also stars 7de Laan star Theo Jantjies, Jacques Blignaut, Lois Du Plessis, Roderick Japhta, and more.

Yolanda is Swanger will be available on eVOD from 18 April 2023

EVOD RELEASES ‘DULAS’

Evod previously released Dulas which featured actors Thabo Malema, who played Nicolas ‘Nico’ Rapanyanes, Mpho Molepo who played his nemesis Mindlos and actress Keke Mphuthi who played his former girlfriend Neo.

According to eMedia’s online streaming platform eVOD: “Nicolas ‘Nico’ Rapanyane (played by Thabo Malema) is an infamous has-been township criminal who has just been released from prison.

He was framed by his then-close friend, Mindlos (Mpho Molepo). However, he hid gold bricks worth R8 million in a grave before he got locked up.

When he gets home his sister is drunk, their house is dilapidated. The graveyard where he buried the gold has changed and he forgot what he engraved on the tombstone.

It was a word his girlfriend, Neo (Keke Mputhi), used to say when she climaxed during sex.

He has to find Neo, who is now in Durban with his nemesis, Mindlos – now the biggest criminal in Durban, and somehow have sex with her and get her to say the word.”
