‘Idols SA’: Lady Du guest judge appearance leaves Mzansi wanting more

Musician Lady Du appeared as a celebrity guest judge on ‘Idols SA’ last night and Mzansi seemingly loved it. A few die-hard Somizi fans were not impressed though…

On Sunday 27 August amapiano songbird Lay Du made her first appearance as a guest judge on Idols SA. South Africans who tuned in to the talent show seemed to love what she had to say and were soon singing her praises on Twitter.

Many of them even suggested that she be the one to replace recently suspended Somizi.

Lady Du wows locals with ‘Idols SA’ appearance

Musician Lady Du seems to have a lot more talent under her belt than just making hit songs. The singer was invited as a guest judge on Idols SA and let’s just say it was a roaring success – at least for some people.

She has found herself trending on social media app Twitter as many Idols fans share just how great she was. According to the various tweets made by her supporters, she did so well that they would not mind her replacing Somizi who was recently suspended from the show following allegations of abuse made by his estranged husband Mohale.

South Africans praise the singing queen

While a few people didn’t think she was the right fit for the job and called on Somizi to be brought back, a lot of them thought that she was perfect. Many of them called for her to come back while others simply complimented her for doing a stellar job. Read some of their comments below:

“I say this as a person who really doesn’t care whether Somizi was on the show or not. Idols was the same without him for me. In fact, I think Lady Du adds more in terms of judging the contestants musically. So, I think the outcry for SomG is blown way out of proportion.”

Lady Du appears to be feeling much better following the deaths of her close friends Mpura and Killer Kau who died on 7 August in a car accident while travelling to a gig in Rustenburg.

After their deaths, she honoured them with a tattoo and dedicated a heartwarming goodbye post to on her Instagram page which received many heartwarming comments from her fans and supporters.
