Zenzo Nqobe wins Best Actor Award for ‘Partly Cloudy and Hot’ film

Former ‘Rhythm City’ actor Zenzo Nqobe scooped Best Actor Award for a Botswana film ‘Partly Cloudy and Hot’ in Toronto, Canada.

Talented The River actor Zenzo Nqobe, who played the role of Kebakile in Partly Cloudy and Hot has won Best Actor Award.

ACTOR ZENZO NQOBE WINS BEST ACTOR AWARD

TshisaLIVE reports that the Partly Cloudy and Hot actor Zenzo Nqobe recently received the Best Actor Award in Toronto, Canada. 

The publication adds that the CattlePost Films production Botswana short film was written and executively produced by Donald Molosi.

Nqobe starred alongside model and actress Kaone Kario, who made her first movie debut in the Botswana film. 

When asked if his win is a Botswana win or a South African win, Nqobe said his win is for Africa and he’s for Africa.

“Both South Africa and Botswana are home to me. I still don’t know what separates them. This win is for Africa because I am for Africa.”

‘PARTLY CLOUDY AND HOT’ ACTOR BEAT INTERNATIONAL TALENT

The River actor Zenzo Nqobe revealed in a statement with TshisaLIVE that he flew to Gaborone to shoot the film Partly Cloudy and Hot in 2022.

Nqobe adds that the film is a global story, which shows how we interconnect in life as humans, and if it inspires someone out there it’s a good thing.

Donald Molosi, who wrote and produced the film also tells the publication that Nqobe has just beaten international, American, and Canadian talent while performing completely in Setswana.

Molosi also hopes that the actor will be an inspiration to all of us, speakers of this dying language, to use it more in life and art.

TVSA reports that the 39-year-old actor has starred in The Queen season one, The River seasons one to four and six, Legacy season one, Rythm City season one, Ga Re Dumele seasons three and four, Generations season one and many more.
