The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) submits more than 18 million social grants to South Africans, including the R350 Social Relief of Distress (or SRD) grant.

Recipients of the R350 social grant should be able to collect theirs from today: 25 October, 2023.

Here are some of the most important R350 social grant links and information.

SASSA: R350 grants can collect NOW

If you receive the R350 SRD grant from SASSA, collections and payments are from today’s date: 25 October, 2023.

Recipients who have listed their bank accounts will have the grant automatically paid into their bank accounts. If you don’t have a bank account listed on your profile, payments can be collected from participating retailers or Regional Offices.

‘Declined’ SASSA grants will be subject to reassessment.

The R350 SRD Grant

The R350 SRD grant is issued to any South Africans who pass the means and income tests.

If you earn less than R624 per month, you are eligible for SRD assistance. Applicants must provide their proof of income, identity documents, cellphone number, and proof of address to apply for their social grant.

Anyone who earns more than R624 per month, will no longer be able to collect their SASSA grant regardless of their income at the start of the application process.
