A Kruger National Park game ranger has posted a video and picture of a number of elephants, both young and old.

Posting under the Twitter name ‘The Real KING OF THE JUNGLE’ with the handle @EdwardthembaSA, the ranger captioned the post sarcastically: “#Myoffice doing well with gatshenis today.”

He posted another video of an elephant enjoying his breakfast.

And a third video over the weekend of a herd of elephants on the move.

Meanwhile, the same game ranger exposed more visitors to the Kruger National Park for exiting their vehicles in order to get a better view of animals.

He included the official SANParksKNP handle, as well as four images showing car doors wide open, visitors hanging out of open windows and even standing outside their vehicles.

This is certainly not the first instance of such behaviour – as reported by The South African website in THIS previous viral article.

Worryingly, it appears this has become the ‘norm’ inside the park with more and more accounts of law breaking by guests.

According to SANParks, guests entering national parks are required to sign documents indemnifying SANParks against any claim, action, judgment, costs, and or expenses which may be made against SANParks.

Visitors are also advised to stay in their vehicles at all times.

“In most of the national parks, there is a possible threat from dangerous animals. In such parks, guests may only alight from vehicles in designated areas. No part of your body may protrude from a window or sunroof and doors should remain closed at all times.”
