If you’ve been paying attention to your Facebook “On This Day” memories this week, you might be feeling a little nostalgic.

It’s been SEVEN (gosh, we’re getting OLD) years since Bafana Bafana beat France when we hosted the World Cup. Yeah, alright, so the French were revolting and, and, and, but we still remember that victory fondly.

We might have gotten knocked out in the group stages, but what a time it was to be alive!

We all have different memories of that time. For a few weeks, everything just seemed a little better, happier, perfect. When Tshabalala scored the tournament’s opening goal, cheers were heard all across the country.

So, please lend us your eyes and ears for a little throwback to that glorious time.

Shakira might have had the official song, but we all know the REAL MVP of World Cup songs was Kanaan’s “Waving Flag”. And it playing over this montage of visuals from the tournament is just wonderful.

Guys, SO MANY FEELINGS, right?

For a brief moment, we can almost forget that the awarding of the 2010 Soccer World Cup to South Africa is now clouded with some suspicion.

What was some of your favourite memories from the 2010 Soccer World Cup in South Africa?
