Orlando Pirates midfielder Vincent Pule is one of several new players added to a revised Bafana Bafana squad ahead of the international break.

Bafana play Sao Tome e Principe in back-to-back Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) 2021 qualifiers in mid-November.

Five players added to Bafana squad

Having named his squad for the two matches, coach Molefi Ntseki has had to let go of a few players from the camp due to “medical reasons”.

Called up in place of the released players was Pule, who has begun the 2020/21 season on a flyer for the Buccaneers, along with the Mamelodi Sundowns duo of Thapelo Morena and Mosa Lebusa.

Others joining the camp are Bloemfontein Celtic’s Tshepo Rikhotso, as well as Thabo Nodada of Cape Town City.

They come in in place of Thamsanqa Mkhize, Abubaker Mobara, Thibang Phete, Thulani Serero, Reeve Frosler and Andile Jali.

Mkhize and Mobara were both confirmed by their club, Cape Town City, to have contracted COVID-19, while Frosler limped off Kaizer Chiefs cup clash against Pirates with a knee injury.

Bafana Bafana face Sao Tome on Friday at 21:00 (SAST), before the two sides square off once more on Monday.
