Why Lorch can walk back into Orlando Pirates starting XI

Orlando Pirates fans are hoping for good news this week ahead of the conclusion of Thembinkosi Lorch’s suspension

Thembinkosi Lorch could return to action for Orlando Pirates this week.

The winger who was suspended by the club from all footballing activities after being found guilty of assaulting his ex-girlfriend.

Lorch was suspended by the club from 22 November 12 December 2023. While it remains to be seen if the club will allow him to immediately return to action or if there’s more to come in terms of punishment from the club.

If Lorch is allowed to return this week, Jose Riveiro will be able to utilise him immediately as the former Player of The Season hired a personal trainer to keep him fit during his suspension!

“I think it was a wise decision for him to get someone to help him with fitness. I think what made him do that is because he knows that there is no automatic way for him to get back to the starting line-up.” an insider told Citizen.

“So he needs to be on top of his game and try to be at the same level of fitness with the rest of the guys. He has also been given instructions by the fitness trainer to help him get into perfect condition by the time he returns to the team.”

“We have to give the supporters hope by producing better performance. It is simple,” – Jose Riveiro said as quoted by Sowetan.

“We are not finding the goal as easy as we would like and that’s a handicap. But I’m busy with the problems that we have to make sure that we solve them.

“If Orlando Pirates continue having all problems, then we are doing something wrong. I’m busy trying to help my players to win games and score more goals, but I’m not concerned.”
