Now would not be a good time to cop a suspension.

Kaizer Chiefs will hope that a trio of their players can stay out of the referee’s notebook against Arrows. If they don’t, they’ll miss the Orlando Pirates clash on Saturday.

Edson Castillo, Yusuf Maart and Pule Mmodi have all accumulated three bookings this season. One more yellow card for any of them and they’ll earn themselves an automatic one-match suspension. It wouldn’t be a good time to do so, considering the next match is against Chiefs’ Soweto archrivals.

Mozambican defender Edmilson Dove committed a professional foul against Moroka Swallows in the club’s last DStv Premiership outing. The red card he subsequently received rules him out of Amakhosi’s clashes with Golden Arrows in midweek and Orlando Pirates at the weekend. The Glamour Boys host Arrows at FNB Stadium on Tuesday at 19:30 and then face Orlando Pirates in the Soweto Derby on Saturday 9 March. Kickoff in the big one is at 15:30.

In the latest gossip, Sundowns are reportedly keen on hijacking a deal for rumoured Pirates and Chiefs target Shandre Campbell. The 18-year-old winger, who’s enjoying his breakthrough season, has directly contributed to five goals in 11 DStv Prem appearances this term, the highlight being a brace and match-winning display against Orlando Pirates in December.
