Struggling Pirates in for a surprise against Richards Bay

Having lost to Cape Town Spurs mid-week, Orlando Pirates face another tricky away trip to the coast on Saturday.

Orlando Pirates have found the going tough this season despite winning the MTN8 trophy.

Their triumph was less impressive compared to last season given the fact that they only won two of the four matches played in the competition.

Their CAF Champions League aspirations ended early after they were embarrassed by Jwaneng Galaxy in the second round of the competition.

Their form in the DStv Premiership has left the Buccaneers in 13 on the log, with just two wins from eight matches thus far.

Pirates’ domestic cup form has been impressive having already bagged in the MTN8 and are now eyeing the Carling Knockout Cup.

“Richards Bay is different and more aggressive in two blocks. You get lessons from every game that you play,” Riveiro was quoted on IOL.

“It’s not about opponents, but more about ourselves. Going forward, it’s going to be a huge test for all of us to show the type of material we are made of – as the players and coaches.

“We are here for a reason, and the reason is to show that we are here to win more than losing. In two days, we have a chance to change the situation,” said the Pirates coach.

Richards Bay have struggled this season but could fancy their chances against struggling Pirates.
