Now in what has been a protracted transfer saga involving the two Soweto giants, Chiefs are reportedly close to beating Pirates to the signature of Chivaviro. After a stellar season which saw him score 17 goals in all competitions for the now relegated side, Chivaviro was initially linked with a move to Amakhosi, before that quietened down and it was then Sea Robbers who were starting to make ground on getting his signature towards the end of the season.

It was not long before it was reported that Chiefs were set to meet the representatives of Chivaviro, in an effort to beat other rivals, including Pirates to his signature. Now in a further report coming from iDiski Times, it is claimed that Pirates had already agreed a double deal worth R9.5 million with Gallants for both Chivaviro and Katlego Otladisa. But it looks as if not all parties were on the same page.

Why Chivaviro rejected Pirates for Chiefs

“With more offers then flowing in as the season was drawing to a close, it had been revealed that Gallants had an option to extend his contract, which was exercised, and rendering the pre-contract with the Rich Boyz null and void, and in the process, Kaizer Chiefs were moving in on the player. But Gallants chairman Abram Sello had already agreed a transfer fee with Orlando Pirates in a double deal including Katlego Otladisa, which was said to be R9.5 million for both players, iDiski Times sources close to the relegated club confirmed. However, the player has always been clear that Yanga or Chiefs would be his preferred move at this stage of his career.” Wrote the publication.

It now seems as if Chiefs did not waste time making moves for Chivaviro as soon as they heard he prefers a move to Naturena. This is because, it looks like he will be unveiled by his boyhood club soon.
