Ngcobo is a fan favourite

Amakhosi fans are still basking in the glory of a Soweto Derby victory against Pirates, and understandably so, as it was the perfect way to usher in the World Cup break. Nkosingiphile Ngcobo is getting a lot of love from the Chiefs faithful for his livewire display at Soccer City. The talented 10 has been criticised of not producing performances on a consistent basis that align with his ability, but Saturday was possibly a little glimpse into the future. Meanwhile, head coach Arthur Zwane feels a lot of job security at the moment. That might not have been the case a few weeks ago. It’s funny how quickly things can change in football.

Also, spare a thought for Bradley Grobler. The experienced SuperSport striker hit one of the worst penalties in recent memory against Swallows. Sorry pal.

I’ll be back tomorrow with more thoughts, seeing as though there will be a lot of time on my hands.
