Many believe this has been Chiefs’ best ‘recruitment drive’ for quite some time, and there are talks that there could still be one or two more signings secured by Amakhosi before next season.

REPORT: HOW CHIEFS COULD HAVE CASHED IN ON R13M FOR NURKOVIC

However, with Chiefs having unveiled the jersey numbers of their new recruits last week, it’s possible that they have now closed their cheque book.

With plenty of rumours still doing the rounds about who Chiefs could possibly sign, though, we asked readers to vote for the reported target they would most like Chiefs to sign if still possible in a hypothetical scenario.

Interestingly, Kobamelo Kodisang and Pule Mmodi both won 18% of the votes, but the majority of the votes (22%) notably went the way of Fiston Mayele.

Notably, Portuguese outfit Braga SC have triggered a two-year extension option on the contract of winger Kobamelo Kodisang, who has been linked with Kaizer Chiefs. However, this does not necessarily signal the end of this story.

There has been talk that Braga intend to loan Kodisang out to the lower division, which is not an appealing prospect for the former Bidvest Wits playmaker who moved to Braga three years ago.

In another interview with GagasiFM, agent Mike Makaab has further revealed that talks were being held between all parties, while confirming that Naturena could still be a potential destination if Kodisang does leave the Portuguese side

“The two clubs value the player differently, that is the case here. We cannot reach an agreement. The deal is deadlocked,” Makaab said.

“The deal is not dead and buried. However, it will take something special to unlock it. We are facing challenges,” he added.

BELOW IS A RECAP OF OTHER RUMOURS AND TRANSFER TALK INVOLVING CHIEFS:

In some notable reports, transfer talk suggested Chiefs had been offered an opportunity to secure the services Al Ahly’s Luis Miquissone, who has been placed on the transfer list of the Egypt club.

However, the player’s representative Thato Matuka has firmly denied there’s been any contact from Amakhosi, as reported by iDiski Times.

LATEST: AL AHLY STAR HAS NOT BEEN OFFERED TO CHIEFS!

While that player recruit won’t materialise, Chiefs could still possibly swoop in for former Stellenbosch FC striker Fuad Johnson after he was surprisingly released by the club.

The 19-year-old went on trial at Belgian clubs Antwerp and Westerlo, but ultimately did not fit into their planning around recruiting a player ready for first-team football. However, he could now apparently be picked up by Chiefs to feature in the Diski Challenge squad for next season.

Amakhosi are also now linked with Liam de Kock from Stellenbosh FC, with the defender a likely target after it was confirmed that Cape Town Spurs’ Rushwin Dortley is heading to Europe.

Meanwhile, it is worth noting that there has been a new twist in Kaizer Chiefs‘ pursuit of DRC striker Fiston Mayele who currently plays for Young Africans of Tanzania.

Last week, reports emerged that Mayele was on his way to Naturena after agreeing a three-year deal with Chiefs. However, it appears the reports are not true after all as Yanga’s Signing Committee Engineer Hersi Ally told FARPost that Meyele is NOT for sale.

The talented young striker has also now confirmed he won’t be coming to South Africa.
