Orlando Pirates‘ former defender Kwanda Mngonyama has not taken long to find new employment. The utility player has reportedly signed for Swallows FC.
Mngonyama, who can play in different positions such as right-back, central defence, and midfield was released by the Soweto giants after only making nine appearances in a black jersey last season.
“Well-placed Siya sources have confirmed that the former Mamelodi Sundowns defender has penned a one-year deal with the Dube Birds, with an option to extend for another campaign,” Soccer Laduma reported.
“Mngonyama spent a brief period training under the watchful eye of coach Dylan Kerr, who himself recently penned a new deal with the club, and managed to impress enough to earn himself a deal,” the report added.
Not many players have traveled as much as this man. Mngonyama has played his football for Mamelodi Sundowns, Bidvest Wits, Maritzburg United, Cape Town City, and of course Pirates last season.
Meanwhile, he might make his Dube Birds debut against the same Pirates on Saturday 6 August at 15:30 at the Orlando Stadium.
